Partner Event: SKYCTC CyberSafe Summit

October 24, 2024 @ 7:30 am - 1:00 pm

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month and Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) will host a Cybersafe Summit on October 24, 2024, from 7:30 AM – 1:00 PM at their KATI Campus, 1127 Morgantown Road, Bowling Green, KY. The conference is free and open to the public. Topics will include phishing, strong passwords, password management, multifactor authentication, and software updates.

With an increasing number of users, devices, and programs in the modern enterprise, combined with the increased deluge of data, much of which is sensitive or confidential, the importance of cybersecurity continues to grow. The growing volume and sophistication of cyber attackers and attack techniques compound the problem even further.  The conference will allow participants to know the tools and resources needed to remove the mystery of cybersecurity and help you to be online with more peace of mind.

The CyberSafe Summit presenters are:

John will discuss Cybersecurity and Money: Inexpensive First Steps.

Dr. Michael Ramage is the director of Murray State Cyber Education and Research Center which focuses on education, outreach, development, and research in the areas of cybersecurity and networking. Michael will discuss Strengthening Your Security: The Power of Multi-Factor Authentication.

Johnny Carrera, a 32-year IT veteran and CompTIA’s instructional designer, has a rich history of connecting education with technology.
